We combine showing with child-friendly language as we explain the procedure to them and how it benefits their smile. Finally, once they feel comfortable and ready, we do the procedure. This ensures that your child doesn't experience any fear or anxiety about their dental care when they completely understand what to expect.
Partnering with Parents for a Great Dental Experience
We also spend plenty of time mentoring parents on their child's oral health, answering their questions, and giving them tips on how to care for their little one's smile at home. Parents will need to help small children brush until around age seven or eight. Allowing your child to choose their dental tools—fun toothbrushes and flavorful toothpaste—will enable them to participate in their dental care until they're old enough to take over on their own.
Parents can encourage brushing and flossing in many ways, including making it fun. Create a chart that marks each successful day your little one has with oral care, and offer them a small treat or reward when they complete their goal.
